3-16-2020 – City of Ann Arbor Building Department Notice – Inspection Update

At this time, the City of Ann Arbor is only performing critical inspections such as, roughs, finals and inspections for C of O issuance. We are also accepting alternate inspection methods, photos, videos and video conferencing when appropriate. Engineering reports from licensed professional are also a consideration at the discretion of the project with a signed affidavit validating the work has been completed to the prescribed code requirements. We are asking the public to limit the amount of staff that attend inspections and we encourage communication with the inspectors to determine if a physical inspection is needed. There will be details later today on the building and rental websites outlining how inspections, plan review and permitting are being handled for your future reference and we will try to keep them updated as things develop.
