About the Home
The Owners desired to take this stately home built in 1930 and modernize it. The existing home was closed off and traffic flow needed to be improved. The solution included moving walls, raising ceilings and adding wall to wall glass to calm the eye by focusing the view on the Barton Pond below. Rear decks were created to enjoy the newly renovated space while integrating the exterior living areas. The whole color pallet was lightened to alleviate the dark colors used in the 1930’s.
In order to accomplish this huge renovation while still living in the home, a 3 Car Garage with an Au Pair Suite above was initially created. Once this step in the project was completed the Owners then lived in the new areas while the existing home was totally renovated.
