Navigating Utilities: AT & T Customer Service

After a week of unbelievable run-around trying to find out how to get service moved from a pole, I ended up complaining to the Public Service Commission. Got a call the next morning from a guy in Texas who said he would be happy to help me immediately and that he guaranteed me the issue would be resolved in 24 to 48 hours. His name is Jamie at mobile phone 972-396-2562. He is with their ATT Executive Team, they assign work orders to your local field office.

To start the process, you have to call the Custom Work Order Center in Wisconsin to get AT&T's local rep authorized to look into the issue. 888-901-2779 is their main number. Tristram Villiers was the guy I talked to and he knows how to work the process, his cell number is 262-347-9541 and email is TV326H@att.com. Friendly guy.

Then they send you a contract, you sign it and send them back by check only, no e-payment. Once the check clears, they will assign the Work Order and your local rep servicing that area will contact you. The City of Ann Arbor guy already called me and we talked about it, he also seems like a friendly guy. As soon as he has the work order we're going to meet on-site.

Once I got to the right people, it was pretty straightforward and everyone was very helpful. They have just erected a giant wall for people to get to the ATT promised land of helpful, efficient bureaucracy. Once you're there so far though, very good customer service. I have to think someone at the PSC gave them an earful.
